Featured Destination: Denmark

We recently took a trip to Denmark with DFDS, sailing from Harwich to Esbjerg (the only UK ferry route to Denmark). Check out some photos of the trip below. It was our first visit to Denmark on our mission to sail on as many European ferries as possible! On arrival at Esbjerg, we then drove on to Copenhagen, a journey of about four hours on easy roads.

Copenhagen really is a lovely city, and well worth a visit – the only drawback is that it’s expensive, with a capital E! A pint of beer can be around GBP6 or more, but if you look around enough you can eat and drink for semi-reasonable prices.

It’s easy enough to move around the city on foot, and there’s plenty to see. Most of the cafes have seating with blankets outside so even when it’s cool you can sit out and watch the world go by.

Copenhagen hotel lobby - very nice!

Tivoli Gardens. Copenhagen. Sadly shut on the day of our visit 🙁
